Al Shene Marine Holding was founded by Sultan Rashid Abdullah Rashid Al Shene, building on the family business his father started in the 1990s. The group works as one supply chain: raw material, processing, packing and quality control happen in Scotland, while global management, finance and Gulf distribution are run from Dubai. Field operations sit at Aberdeen Ports & Docks, where the cold chain, blast freezing and port work are handled. Integrated facilities at Edinburgh's Leith and at Grangemouth load bulk and reefer containers, and fresh product flies out of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The range covers Scottish salmon and North Atlantic whitefish, langoustine, crab, lobster and scallops, and value-added lines from roe to kelp extracts. Buyers in the Gulf, Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America order through one email address.
What we supply
Three product families. Fish: Scottish salmon in HOG, PBO/PBI fillet and portion cuts, trout, mackerel, herring, haddock, cod, plaice and sole. Shellfish: langoustine, brown and velvet crab, European lobster, scallops, mussels and oysters. Value-added: salmon and cod roe, seaweed and kelp extracts, octopus and squid, smoked and marinated deli lines, fish oil and fish meal. Each family can be supplied fresh at +2°C or frozen, depending on the product.
How it moves
Product is stored at −25°C or +2°C in Scotland and leaves by three routes: reefer containers through Leith and Grangemouth, a refrigerated truck fleet across Europe, and air freight from Edinburgh and Glasgow to the UAE and Middle East, Asia and the USA. Fresh air shipments carry temperature data loggers, and the team follows Health Certificates, CITES papers, certificates of origin and customs clearance.

Dubai is the global management and finance centre and the Gulf trading office. Scottish management and governance sit at Exchange Plaza, Edinburgh. Markets served: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait; France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany; Japan, China, South Korea and Singapore; the United States and Canada.
